Calling all students interested in Trades, Hairdressing and Beauty
Trades, Hairdressing and Beauty programmes at UCOL are known for producing high quality graduates that are ready for the workforce. If you have any students interested in these programmes UCOL’s School Liaison Team can arrange for them to meet lecturers, sit in on classes and tour our modern facilities.

Success in the Trade

With a shortage of Trades people in New Zealand it makes sense for your students to learn a trade, and where better to learn than at UCOL where we have a strong focus on industry. UCOL offers a range of programmes in the trade areas including;
Automotive, Carpentry, Construction, Electrical, Electrotechnology, Engineering, Furniture Making, Motorsport and Mechanical Engineering including our new Certificate in Fitting, Welding and Machining Level 3.
UCOL trade students work hard and it is common for them to do well in both the classroom and the workplace. Below are links to some of their recent successes:

Hairdressing

For those students wanting to kick start their career in hairdressing UCOL is the place to be! Our hairdressing lecturers have recently stepped onto the world stage competing at international level (Hair Raising Event) and are ready to pass on their knowledge to their students. Below are the hairdressing courses offered at UCOL.

Beauty

The current beauty students at UCOL have been enjoying the superb beauty labs, great lecturers and some recent media attention. (Beauty treatment)
UCOL has recently added the Certificate in Beauty Services Level 4 to its range of courses. This program has been running at the Whanganui campus and has been so successful that it’s starting on UCOL’s Wairarapa campus in 2011 and it’s also rumoured to be starting at the Palmerston North campus in 2011.
