Programme Overview

Turn your admiration for animals into a career with UCOL’s Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. Learn how to care for domesticated and exotic animals across a wide range of subjects including behaviour; anaesthesia, radiography and surgical procedures; pharmacology; medicine; anatomy and nursing.

At UCOL you get fantastic learning support and real life experience with a clinical placement in a vet clinic for five to seven weeks.

The Diploma opens the door to a broad range of animal health careers - from vet clinics, zoos, animal shelters, pet shops, wildlife parks, laboratories to agricultural and animal health sales. Our graduates are also approved to work in BESTPracticeTM accredited veterinary clinics.

The programme may be studied full-time in two years, part-time, or by distance learning, providing an opportunity to up-skill for those working in the industry desiring a qualification. The distance option for this programme does not qualify for loans or allowances.
