Nursing Courses at UCOL Polytechnic

UCOL’s nursing programmes are supportive, personal and practical. We’ve been creating exceptional nurses for over 30 years here at UCOL. Our students love the mix of hands on patient learning and up to date nursing theory and practice, leading to a bachelor degree in nursing and registration in the registered nurse scope of practice.

Nursing students at UCOL benefit from the best teaching technology in the country. The newly installed nursing simulation laboratory and SimView system delivers full integration of patient voice, vital signs, hi-definition video recording and de-briefing ability. This means you can work through authentic patient simulated practice situations in a controlled and safe environment.

My UCOL Bachelor of Nursing was excellent preparation for joining the nursing workforce, after three years at UCOL I felt ready to be a nurse. They have a great balance between theory and practical in their curriculum, along with modern facilities and a diverse range of placement experiences. This provided me a wide variety of opportunities to learn and practise my nursing knowledge and skills in a safe and supportive environment. - Hannah Reynolds

“The UCOL nursing programmes came highly recommended by friends and colleagues. UCOL’s timetables were flexible and suited my busy life. The placements were excellent and UCOL, its support services and all of the lecturers were very supportive.”
- Theresa Makiwa, UCOL Nursing Postgraduate student.
