​Grow a career in agriculture

Do you think a career in farming might be right for you? Are you a lifestyle block owner? Or do you want to upskill for your current job? UCOL has partnered with Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre so you can develop a variety of specific agricultural skills. This practical programme is delivered by experienced tutors so that you can gain hands-on learning in authentic agricultural environments. Enrol now and gain essential farming skills in just 12 weeks.

Overview

This programme allows students to develop very specific skills commonly used within the rural sector. These are:

• Quad bikes
• Fencing
• Motorbikes
• Chainsaws
• Plus more

The compulsory Health and Safety components are integrated into the programme.

Once a graduate has completed this programme they will have demonstrated the ability to be safe, efficient and consistent while using this range of agricultural equipment.

The Certificate in General Farm Skills is available at several sites including UCOL’s Manfeild Park training centre in Feilding. The programme involves practical hands-on learning at a number of rural properties throughout the Manawatu.
