I’m Programme Co-ordinator of the Business and Computing programmes at the Wairarapa campus and I teach Business, Computing, Study skills and Communication on a number of programmes over here.
I'm an internet junkie who has been online since 1999. Have a huge current interest in how I can use these new communication technologies to make learning much more dynamic and portable for my students.
When I'm not online I live with my husband (Roy), cats (Bigpuss and Littlepuss) and labrador (Maisie) on a lifestyle block just outside Masterton. I have three grown up children, two of which are studying at UCOL Palmerston North.
Industry Experience:
Originally British, my early career in the UK was mainly in administration. In the 90’s I lived in the west of Ireland where I gained substantial experience in the voluntary and nonprofit sector. I built the original gene bank database for Irish Seedsavers, supervised a community employment programme for the unemployed in Co.Clare, owned a secondhand shop and ran an organic lifestyle block. More recently in New Zealand I have worked in database administration, technical support, and trained as a teacher. I have been teaching in UCOL for the past 4 years.
