Programme Overview
Combine your interest in physical fitness and your desire for self-improvement with this stepping stone to employment or to further study. The sport and exercise field is wide open, with exciting careers available to skilled and motivated people. Whilst studying this Certificate you’ll be introduced to the effects of exercise on the body, and how to write a training programme, along with aspects of sport coaching, the fitness industry, event management and the application of sport medicine and injury management. All this is done in the fully equipped gym and two Exercise Physiology Testing Laboratories in addition to placements within the industry. This is a hands-on, practical programme where you will benefit from the industry experience and knowledge that UCOL lecturers have. Most materials needed to complete the papers will be provided.
You are responsible for supplying your own gym shoes.
You are expected to wear appropriate exercise clothing to all practical classes. You are responsible for the purchase of your own exercise clothing.
