The Level 5 & 6 Diplomas in Information & Communications Technology (Applied) will provide you with both theory and hands-on experience in our dedicated software and hardware labs.

Learn skills such as C#, Dynamic HTML and networking from industry experienced lecturers. Graduates with this information technology training will enter the workforce more than able to meet the needs of the ICT industry. You can improve career prospects even further by cross crediting the qualification to gain Year 1/2 of the Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology (Applied).

Domestic Entry Requirements

  • If under 20 years of age at the commencement of the programme, at least 42 credits at Level 3 or higher on the NQF. At least 14 of these credits must be from each of two subjects from the approved list. The remaining 14 credits must come from no more than two additional subjects. Also, at least 14 credits at Level 1 or higher in Mathematics or Pangarau, and at least 8 credits at Level 2 or higher which show reading and writing skills in English or Te Reo Māori.

  • Special Admission is available to those students who successfully complete the Certificate for Advanced Computer Users, Level 4 or equivalent qualification.

  • On a case-by-case basis upon application to the Head of School.

International Entry Requirements

English Proficiency Entry Requirements for Level 5:
The minimum entry requirement for international students is an IELTS score of 5.5 (Academic) with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent.

English Proficiency Entry Requirements for Level 6:
The minimum entry requirement for international students is an IELTS score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5, or equivalent.

Applicants under 20 years of age:
There are specific academic entry requirements for international students under 20 years of age. Please enquire for details.
