The Association of Students at UCOL, AS@U, provides representation, advocacy and services* to all UCOL students.

Advocacy Services

The AS@U president and vice president are the advocates of appeals, support for meetings, support for hearings, support for phone calls, mediation.

Representation on Committees

HUB, HST, Whanganui Board of Students, Academic Board, Academic Approvals Committee, Academic Improvements Committee, Degree Monitoring Committee, Research Committee, UCOL Council, Student Support Services, Nursing faculty student representative meeting, HUB student rep meeting, HST student rep meeting, UCOL student council, WINZ Community Support and Advocacy Committee, Studylink stakeholders, Student City.

Office Services

Free local phone use, free fax, laminating, printing, stapling.

Legal Advice

We consult with the EMA, Citizens Advice Bureau and the Community Law Centre.

NZUSA

Greater support with the help of NZUSA.

Health Services

Nurses available on three campuses. Doctors available at the Palmerston North and Whanganui campuses.

Student Buildings

AS@U Student House: kitchen facilities, shower, lounge.

Shop

Nursing equipment, some tickets to events in Palmerston North, order text books, order catering shoes, AS@U merchandise, snack food, stationary, Gordon Harris art supplies, safety equipment.
