To boost the quality of teacher training across the tertiary sector. The consortium has established New Zealand’s first Centre for Tertiary Teaching Excellence, known as Ako Aotearoa.

University of Waikato

To jointly teach and award Computer Graphic Design qualifications at Bachelor, Honours, Post-Graduate Diploma and Masters levels, through a school of UCOL, the Whanganui School of Design.

 

Industry Training Advisory Body (ITaB)

A pre-apprentice programme for young people wanting to earn while they are doing pre-apprentice and apprenticeship training for the construction industry.

 

Queensland University of Technology

To offer a Bachelor of Applied Science - Medical Imaging Technology.

 

Auckland University of Technology

To deliver a Masters in Art and Design.

 

The School of Design and Arts of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in the Phillipines

Students from both institutes have access to a wider range of programmes, with opportunities for New Zealand students to study abroad, and for staff and postgraduate students to develop international research projects with De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

UCOL is a founding member of the Tertiary Accord of New Zealand (TANZ), an alliance established between New Zealand’s leading tertiary education institutes to improve educational opportunities and support services for students.  This cooperative relationship ensures collegial interaction, academic support and research collaboration, and better educational opportunities to the communities served.
