Talent, skill and imagination are all about to be on show at a number of exhibitions by UCOL students. This is a great opportunity to come and soak up some art, design, interior design and just enjoy the talent on show.

UCOL Diploma of Interior Design Exhibition is open this Thursday and Friday, showcasing innovative ideas as well as the practical and technical skills the students have learnt through the year.

Sean Dunne Lecturer in Interior Design has this to say of displays “This year we’ve had a really creative and considerate group of students who come from a range of different backgrounds and experience levels. They have worked very hard to hone their skills as designers and they have had great successes”. 

The interior design students also had the opportunity to complete a design scheme for a client, their feedback was "The students have done AMAZING pieces of work. They are fabulous and express some wonderful ideas, concepts and careful thinking.”

Opening the same day is the Bachelor of Creative Media Exhibition, which is being held at Te Manawa, and will be open to the public until the 24th of February. These students have spent the year combining a range of digital technologies and arts - covering illustration, videography/filmmaking, 3D/animation, photography and design.

“The students have worked really hard this year, with the projects they have been involved with projects will not only providing an amazing learning opportunity for our students but also providing real benefits for our clients within industry and the community.” Said Tricia Falkner, Senior Lecturer and Photography & Programme Leader.

Tributaries which opens in Whanganui at four separate locations on the 23rd of November is a combination of all the art disciplines offered at UCOL. Stephanie West, Programme Leader & Lecturer - Fashion and Textile at the Whanganui campus said “We encourage the community and the families of our students to get out and see these exhibitions, visit the four venues and be captivated by what the students are exhibiting”.
