Duration: One day a week for five weeks.

Does anything with wheels and a motor appeal to you? If you think building or rebuilding anything motorised is fun, then UCOL's STAR Automotive Programme might be for you. You will undertake a variety of theory and hands-on project work related to the automotive industry.

Successful completion of UCOL's STAR Automotive Programme is the first step in a journey. Equipped with new skills and a taste for the industry, you will know what you need to do to pursue a career in the automotive field. If this is for you, you can undertake further tertiary studies in:

  • Academy Automotive Programme
  • Academy Automotive Panel and Paint Programme

 Course Information

Unit Standard 21701 (Level 2) (2 Credits)
Demonstrate knowledge of exterior and interior motor body parts and trim in the motor industry.

Unit Standard 21669 (Level 2) (2 Credits)
Demonstrate knowledge of hand tools and workshop equipment for motor industry applications.

 Learning Facilities

A fully equipped automotive workshop and access to digital learning.

 Domestic Entry Requirements

For year 11 - 13 secondary school students (NZ Citizens, permanent residents or students with an applicable visa allowing them to be enrolled in a secondary school).

Applications are to be received from participating schools.
