From 2023, UCOL Te Pūkenga and the programme you have enrolled in will become part of Te Pūkenga. So, if you join UCOL Te Pūkenga in 2023, you will be awarded Te Pūkenga certification. And, if you are a current learner graduating in 2023, you will be awarded a co-branded certificate.
 
This programme consists of 60 credits. The courses include;
 
Introduction to Māori and Pasifika Performing Arts (15 credits)
Gain basic vocal and movement skills for Māori and Pasifika performance genres, and to work in the performing arts industry including health and safety.
 
Māori and Pasifika Technique Studies (15 credits)
Develop basic skills in Māori and Pasifika performance techniques, the ability to prepare for presentation to an audience, and the establishment of a routine practice schedule.
 
Ensemble Workshop (15 credits)
Prepare an ensemble for performance, taking responsibility for both personal performance and interpersonal communication and collaboration.
 
Ensemble Performance (15 credits)
Develop performance skills and extend learning from other courses into performances for audiences

 Domestic Entry Requirements

Music: Evidence of basic instrument or vocal ability based on audition 
Dance: Evidence of physical capability to complete the programme based on audition

English language proficiency
If English is not your first language, you must also demonstrate English language skills equivalent to an IELTS overall band score (academic) of 5.5.0 with no band score less than 5 (or equivalent including TOEFL). IELTS scores used must be taken from a single IELTS Test Report Form (i.e. combining scores from more than one test is not permissible). UCOL Te Pūkenga is a TOEFL testing centre.

The programme is subject to accreditation by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority under the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020.
