Join UCOL's Academy Mechatronics Programme to learn a combination of mechanical and electrical engineering and the foundation of robotics. You will have the opportunity to work towards NCEA Level 3 whilst gaining technical skills and work on practical projects using complex machines and equipment.

Successful completion of UCOL's Academy Mechatronics Programme is the first step in a journey. Equipped with new skills and a taste for the technology, design, manufacturing and engineering industries, you will know what you need to do to pursue a career. If this is for you, you can undertake further tertiary studies in:

 Course Information

Unit Standard 26119 (Level 3) (Version 5) (4 Credits)
Construct, and report on the performance of, a simple electronic programmable circuit.

Unit Standard 19747 (Level 3) (Version 4) (5 Credits)
Demonstrate and apply fundamental knowledge of microcontrollers.

Unit Standard 29650 (Level 2) (Version 1) (2 Credits)
Demonstrate knowledge of the safe use of powered equipment in a mechanical engineering or fabrication workshop.

Unit Standard 30281 (Level 3) (Version 1) (10 Credits)
Perform milling and turning operations in mechanical engineering.

 Domestic Entry Requirements

For year 11 - 13 secondary school students (NZ Citizens, permanent residents or students with an applicable visa allowing them to be enrolled in a secondary school).

Applications are to be received from participating schools.

This programme will build on your skills learnt in the Academy Mechanical Engineering Programme, Academy Intro to Trades programmes, or if you have completed NCEA Level 2.

Recommended school subjects include:
