Graduate Diploma in ICT (Computer Networks) Graduate at Palmerston North graduation

Originally from Kerala, India, Aishwarya Pookat believes that studying in New Zealand has been one of the best decisions she’s ever made.

Having already completed a Bachelors in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Dr. N. G. P. Institute of Technology in India, Aishwarya just couldn’t shake the idea of pursing Computer Networks.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the working of the internet and I embrace every opportunity to broaden my knowledge,” she says.

UCOL first caught Aishwarya’s attention because it had exactly what she was looking for – the Graduate Diploma in ICT (Computer Networks) programme in Palmerston North.

“UCOL offered the perfect programme for me plus they had excellent facilities, a strong emphasis on industry training and the best locations. They made it hard to look elsewhere so I enrolled with UCOL straightaway.”

Aishwarya says the best part of studying at UCOL was the exposure to New Zealand, both academically and socially.

“The practical experience I had during my programme at UCOL made me industry ready. I also made a lot of good friends from whom I got to learn so much about this beautiful country!”

Now a UCOL graduate with the skills and knowledge that are in high demand in the ICT industry, Aishwarya is working as a Level 1 Infrastructure Support Technician at Primary IT in Palmerston North.

“I would like to do my Masters at some stage but for now I am just looking forward to learning as much as I can as I progress in my career.”

Aishwarya says studying at UCOL and living in New Zealand has so far been a refreshing experience.

“My time at UCOL has paved the way for a new beginning. I hope to continue to learn and grow in the ICT industry and in New Zealand.”
