The Whanganui School of Design is extending to members of the public an invitation to New Space, New Place: New Edith Gallery, an exhibition featuring works from an exciting range of local and national artists of distinction.

The exhibition will be open to view from Wednesday 4th November - Wednesday 11 November.

Art lecturer and Whanganui UCOL Fellow Lorraine Webb says that the exhibition celebrates the gallery opening after the strengthening and refurbishment of the Whanganui School of Design heritage buildings on Taupo Quay.

"It is exciting for us to be able to showcase our new facilities to not only the local arts community, but also members of the national arts community. We are pleased to be adding the Edith Gallery and the new art and design facilities to Whanganui's prestigious art reputation."

From the start of 2016, all of the creative students at the Whanganui School of Design, which now includes visual arts and textile/fashion design, will be located in the heritage buildings on Taupo Quay.
