Course Information
This programme comprises 22 credits.
Unit Standard 29875 (Version 2) (Level 2) (5 Credits)
Describe patterns of development and learning for young mokopuna/children.
Unit Standard 32988 (Version 1) (Level 2) (5 Credits)
Describe and demonstrate basic care needs and practises for young mokopuna/children.
Unit Standard 29853 (Version 2) (Level 2) (4 Credits)
Demonstrate knowledge of health issues, practises and services to protect and enhance the wellbeing of young children.
Unit Standard 32989 (Version 1) (Level 2) (3 Credits)
Demonstrate knowledge of age-related food and nutrition relevant to healthy eating for young mokopuna/children.
Unit Standard 29858 (Version 2) (Level 2) (5 Credits)
Provide and reflect on the value of play experiences for a mokopuna/child's development and learning.
Domestic Entry Requirements
For year 11 - 13 secondary school learners (NZ Citizens, permanent residents or learners with an applicable visa allowing them to be enrolled in a secondary school).
Applications are to be received from participating schools.
Recommended school subjects include:

- Home Economics (food & nutrition)
- Drama
- Music
