In an exciting addition to Whanganui’s hair & beauty scene, experienced hairdresser Regan Bourke is all set to unveil her new venture, 'Mia Bella Hair,' on October 10th.
The studio's name, which translates to 'My Beautiful Hair,' reflects Regan's commitment to exceeding her client’s hair goals.
"I like to get to know my clients and build a relationship for a more personalised service. The aim is to achieve fantastic results while still maintaining the integrity of the hair" says Regan.
As a Whanganui local and lifelong hair aficionado, Regan is thrilled to realise her dream of opening her own salon in the city. She brings a wealth of expertise to her clients, having studied at
UCOL Whanganui before gaining her
national qualification in Hairdressing in 2009 and
Nail Technician qualification in 2012. When asked about her vision for a great hairdresser, she emphasised, "Someone who listens to what their clients want and who can guide them in the right direction for their hair type, complexion, and face shape."
Regan developed a comprehensive business plan with Petrina Clark, an impact coach from Thrive Whanganui. This connection was made possible with the support of the Ministry of Social Development's (MSD) Business Training and Advice Grant (BTAG). The business also received funding from MSD in the form of a self-employment Start-Up Payment to go towards setting up. Regan reflects on the journey, stating, "It has definitely been challenging at times, but in the end, it's so worth it to be able to work for myself and around my family."
Located at 201A Victoria Avenue, Whanganui (across from the AA centre), Mia Bella Hair promises a fantastic customer experience. Regan is looking forward to welcoming people through the doors and invites you to participate in the current giveaway competition running on the Mia Bella Hair Facebook page. The lucky winner will be announced during opening week.
