This course is ideal for beginners or anyone wanting to refresh their computer skills, and offers free learning at your own pace in a facilitated environment.

The basics of using a computer

  • How to turn the computer on

  • How to sign in or log inHow to use a mouse and keyboardWhere and how to start programmes, apps and applications

  • How to move around and between programmes and apps on a Windows desktop

  • File management

  • Word, Internet Explorer, email, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher

  • Printing

Internet Explorer

  • Understand the Internet and its origins

  • Learn Internet related terms such as browsers, hyperlinks, search engines, URLs

  • Basic search techniques

  • Social media

Email

  • Sending and receiving messages

  • Sending attachments

  • Setting up email accounts

  • Auto signature
