This Taster is designed to expose students to the health and wellbeing sector so they can make a more informed decision for career pathways and further study options within the heath sector.

Interact with people to provide support in a health or wellbeing setting. Unit Standard 20826-V6 (Level 2) (3 Credits)

Demonstrate knowledge of infection control requirements in a health or wellbeing setting.

Students must be self-motivated and ready to learn.

This STAR Taster is the first step in exploring this career pathway which can lead to further tertiary studies in:

• New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Social & Community Services) (Level 4)

• Bachelor of Nursing

Learners will need to bring pen and paper to take notes and are required to dress appropriately for the health industry i.e. no hoodies, sandals, dirty footwear, slippers, ripped or stained clothing. Learners are expected to dress and behave to the industry standard.
