Calling one, calling all, UCOL Manawatū is proud to announce the launch of its three new postgraduate Information Technology programmes which includes a postgraduate certificate and diploma, and a Master of IT.

Paula Richardson, Academic Portfolio Manager of ICT and Performance at UCOL, says the programmes are designed to enhance existing knowledge or experience with in-depth study in a number of areas such as Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Machine Learning and IT Management.

"UCOL has a long history of delivery of Information Technology programmes, with our main programme being the Bachelor of Information & Communication Technology, which has excellent support from our local industry."

"We're thrilled to introduce these new postgraduate programmes, thanks to collaborative mahi with our extended colleagues at Whitireia and Weltec."

"The Masters specifically will look to support our local IT industry through increased workforce support and research, while we aim to increase the number of ākonga (students) studying IT within the rohe. Thanks to the wonderful industry support here, especially from ManawaTech, there will also be opportunity to undertake an industry project or internship as well," explains Richardson.

"Thanks to the design of the programme, ākonga will have the opportunity to further develop their critical thinking skills and undertake specialised study or research in the rapidly developing world of technology. With options for full-time, part-time and blended learning (face-to-face and online delivery methods), we're expecting this will become a valuable opportunity for those already in the workforce and wanting to upskill."

"UCOL has excellent facilities to support IT ākonga and expert academic staff (supported by research activities) plus holistic pastoral care, and we are looking forward to welcoming new ākonga into the fold next year."
