Designed for farm owners, managers, and 2ICs, the programme focuses on the benefits to be gained through affordable, practical, good animal care practices. On completion, you will understand the market expectations and benefits of good animal care practice. You will learn how to use body condition and locomotion scoring to monitor animal well-being, recognise and avoid heat stress, and understand time budgeting.

As part of the programme you will keep an animal well-being log and develop an animal well-being plan for your workplace.

Developed by QCONZ in collaboration with UCOL, Fonterra and DairyNZ, this training includes a blend of delivery - some online learning, a one day workshop, and on-farm assessment.
