Successful completion of the UCOL STAR Alternative Health Care course is the first step in a journey. Equipped with new skills and a taste for the industry, you will know what you need to do to pursue a career in healthcare. If this is for you, you can undertake further tertiary studies in:

  • Academy Health Level 3
  • New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing

The UCOL STAR Alternative Health Care course comprises 5 Credits. 

 

From 2023 our nursing, medical imaging, social services, and healthcare ākonga will be learning in Te Whaioranga, the purpose-built healthcare education centre for UCOL Manawatū. This state-of-the-art learning environment enables our nursing, medical imaging, social services and healthcare ākonga to learn across disciplines and functions, familiarising them with real-world practices and ensuring they become ‘workforce ready’ graduates.

For year 11 - 13 secondary school learners (NZ Citizens, permanent residents or learners with an applicable visa allowing them to be enrolled in a secondary school).

Applications are to be received from participating schools.

Fees-free for learners. Upon successful application your school will pay UCOL a fee.
