UCOL Te Pūkenga is set to celebrate 1950 new graduates now equipped with skills and knowledge that will help fuel industries in New Zealand and abroad.

Many of the graduands will receive their Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees and Postgraduate qualifications at ceremonies in Manawatū, Whanganui, Wairarapa, and Horowhenua during March. www.

UCOL Te Pūkenga Chief Executive Dr Lynn says Graduation is a proud moment for the institution, as it recognises the commitment and hard work graduates have put in to grow their skills, employability, and as people.

“We are incredibly proud of everyone who is graduating. While Graduation marks the end of a students’ programme, it is really the beginning of a new journey; these graduates are now equipped with skills and knowledge that can help them live the best lives possible.
UCOL Te Pūkenga graduates are smart, talented, and respected in industry, so we look forward to seeing the impact our new graduates make in their chosen fields.”

2019 will mark the first Graduation ceremony for students from the UCOL Te Pūkenga campus in Horowhenua. The campus has 29 students graduating in subjects including Carpentry, Cosmetology, Early Child Education, and Infrastructure Works.

In another first, Palmerston North Graduation will include the first cohort from the Bachelor of Creative Media. The programme was introduced in 2018 as a successor to the Bachelor of Applied Visual Imaging, and provides students with significant industry work experience.

UCOL Te Pūkenga continues to be a notable contributor to the Nursing workforce, with the Bachelor of Nursing having some of the largest graduating cohorts in Manawatū Whanganui, and Wairarapa. The 89 Nursing graduates for Manawatū is the most for any programme across all campuses.

For Whanganui, the largest graduating group comes from the New Zealand Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (68), while the New Zealand Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care has the most graduates for Wairarapa (22).

The Graduation ceremonies will also include a great line-up of keynote speakers, and the presentation of UCOL Te Pūkenga Council Honours and Alumni Awards.
